After 2020 you deserve some celebration. With Champagne! Because, you see, there are a few facts about the story of Champagne that are surprising and inspiring.
Did you know that the Champagne region in France has been the site of more battles and wars than any other place on earth? I didn’t either until I read the book Champagne: How the World’s Most Glamourous Wine Triumphed Over War and Hard Times.
Champagne has been used to celebrate AND commiserate to get through tough times.
Even when the vines and people were trampled on, life never quit. You haven't, either.
Another surprising thing about Champagne is that it used to be red, sweet, flat, and cloudy. Today we know it as white, dry, bubbly, and clear. In fact, several these changes happened because of a tough, smart French businesswoman called the Widow Cliquot.
It reminds me that change is inevitable, but growth and opportunity are totally optional. You’ve made your own changes and put yourself on the path of growth and opportunity.
So, with some bubbly inspiration, here are my three cheers to YOU!
First, a cheer that you made it through 2020! You’re still here. Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.
Second, a cheer that the tough times have made your stronger! It’s been said that the difference between stumbling blocks and steppingstones is how you use them. If this year has caused you to step into having a better business or being a better person, then you have used this year’s challenges well.
And third, a cheer to your 2021 being your greatest contribution and entrepreneurial success yet! Yes, that’s totally possible. But it will require a decision to be bold and thrive.
