The first hurdle for success happens between your ears. ![]() Does your self-talk routinely dismantle every good idea you have, tell you to always play it safe, or discourage you from taking action? Do any of the following ring a bell? "I don't feel right pointing out my accomplishments. That sounds like bragging to me." "Maybe I'd get more respect if I looked better." "What did I say that would cause him to turn on me like that?" "I get embarrassed too easily for myself and others." "I shouldn't have applied for that new position. I haven't worked hard enough." Business author Alan Weiss says "Your first sale must be to yourself." If you're not a happy customer, chances are you've allowed yourself to be full of doubt and criticism for too long. Decide to examine how you think about yourself and start replacing any negative self-doubt with one simple phrase: I am able. To help remind you that you truly are able, grab my "The First Hurdle to Success" mini-poster and post it up where you will see it often. It's part of the Sanity, Confidence and Fun Action Pack you can get here. Comments: |
