Alive & Kickin'

VirginiaMontgomeryWhat do you do when your good friend tells you that she's going to visit her grandmother whose is celebrating her 95th birthday?  Offer to create a special nail color in her grandmother's honor, of course!  That's exactly what happened when my friend Jana shared with me her excitement about visiting her grandmother Virginia Montgomery.

"While I'm there I am hoping to give her a manicure; she loves it!" Jana told me.  She went on to tell me all the amazing things about her grandmother - that she is the oldest of ten children, worked most of her life, including at NASA where she has rubbed shoulders with almost every astronaut, that she's well loved by many neighbors and in her church, and last but not least, that only recently did she start to take her first and only medication of a simple blood thinner.

Wow, what a woman!  I couldn't help but think of the nail color name Alive & Kickin.  But would Virginia feel admired and appreciated with a name like that?  "Absolutely!" Jana reassured me.  Thankfully she did.

May we all be like Virginia Montgomery when we grow up!
