Something DID explode! It was the exercise ball that I was using as my office chair! After the sudden shock of such a loud noise, I found my butt on the floor looking up at my desk. I started HOWLING with laughter! My assistant Vicky rushed over to see what happened and if I was alright. "Now there's a little feedback, huh?" I blurted out looking at the ripped plastic. "Allison, my fitness trainer, isn't going to be too pleased." We both howled some more! I hope you're howling, too, because goodness knows we all need more laughter in our lives. That's why I suggest in my 4 steps for doing your nails that while you put on top coat you ask yourself "What's 1 thing recently I'm grateful for or made me laugh?" Chip happens, so it's easy to complain about what's not going right in your life or how your schedule didn't go as planned. Being grateful and laughing easily (especially at ourselves) has a way of refocusing our attention on what's going right and soothes the soul. Just like the big bang of my fitness ball, I experienced another big bang last night when my book Live Like Your Nail Color, Even If You Have Naked Nails became one of the top 100 best selling books in Beauty & Fitness and Self-Esteem on Amazon...AGAIN! (It happened last week as well.) When you go to the Amazon page, make sure to check out what some gals wrote for reviews: "...as much fun as a girl can get...fun is on every page." "...not like all the other motivational, self-help books out there." Yesterday I was sitting at my desk typing on my computer and BAM! And I mean a loud BAM like a gun was fired or something exploded.

RE: your exercise ball story - my step-brother, over the Thanksgiving holiday, suggested I sit on a ball at my desk. I tried to explain to him that I am too afraid of popping it, so your story justified my reluctance. I will sit here, in my chair, and simply try to sit up straight. :)
